Overview
When his companion is killed, hard Irish investigative Eddie Ryan (Robert Duvall) vows to avenge the fatality, whatever the expense. As he begins deciphering clues, his habits becomes so horrendous that he's required to turn in his badge, but the experience only inspires him. Ryan ultimately learns that his partner was caught up in a Puerto Rican gun-running plan masterminded by a scoundrel called Sweet Willie (Henry Darrow), that wants to rouse war of independence.
